BIO 411 - Bioinformatics

Bioinformatics course explores the application of computational tools to manage, analyze, and interpret biological data. Topics include sequence alignment, gene and protein databases, genomics, transcriptomics, phylogenetics, and basic scripting for data analysis. This course emphasizes problem-solving using real biological datasets and introduces students to the software and algorithms driving modern biological research.

Prerequisite: BIO 143 and BIO 143L required. BIO 262, BIO 262L, and MAT 226 recommended.
