Genetics lecture course covers the principles of heredity and the molecular basis of gene function. Topics include Mendelian genetics, chromosomal inheritance, DNA structure, DNA replication, transcription and translation, gene regulation, mutations, genetic mapping, bioinformatics, population genetics, and biotechnology applications. This course provides a foundation for understanding how genetic information is transmitted and expressed in living organisms.

Prerequisite: BIO 143 and BIO 143L
