General Biology 1 Laboratory introduces students to fundamental biological techniques and reinforces concepts from the lecture course through hands-on experiments. Topics include microscopy, cell structure, biological molecules, enzyme activity, osmosis, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, mitosis, meiosis, genetics, and biotechnology. Students will develop skills in scientific observation, data analysis, and experimental design.

This course plus BIO 143 is equivalent to SCI 2431 and SCI 2432 (both must be taken).
