ACADEMIC CENTER

The Academic Center is located on the third floor of the Main building and serves students with academic support and tutoring assistance. Students can also receive assistance with additional items such as organization, study skills, time management, and test taking strategies. The Academic Center:

  • Is available to students on a walk-in basis.

  • Is open to all Crown College students.

  • Is provided for students at no additional cost.

  • Is open during convenient hours Monday through Friday each week and staffed with tutors in the afternoon and evening Monday through Thursday during the semester.

COLLABORATION CENTER

The Collaboration Center is a comfortable place where students can study in groups or individually, collaborate, view class projects on large TV monitors, or gather in front of a whiteboard. The space is open Monday through Friday during the semester to provide convenient access to faculty instructors.

TESTING CENTER

The Testing Center provides a place for students to complete makeup examinations. According to faculty course policy, students have a choice of makeup exam days and times which are reserved through an online request system. Check out the Academic Center portal in Canvas for more information.

ADVISING

Every student is assigned their own personal Academic Advisor. This advisor will assist students in creating a graduation degree plan and provide oversight throughout their time as a student. These advisors have expertise in their specific areas in connecting students to career advancement.

WRITING LAB

The Writing Lab offers open hours for students who would like additional assistance with no appointment required.

The assistants working in the Writing Lab have been selected based upon their high academic performance, ability to work with others, and completion of courses in which they are providing assistance. The tutors regularly work with professors to provide students assistance with the most recent materials and information being covered in class.

STUDY SPACES

Having a place to study is important for every student. Whether you prefer a quiet setting or a busy one, there are several areas to study around campus. The library, collaboration center, student center, residence halls, courtyard, and Sherburne Avenue coffee shop all serve to provide students a setting to study.
