Academic Life

As an accredited institution of higher education, Crown College is committed to learning at the highest levels. Students at Crown should view these years as both a calling for this period of their lives as well as preparation for the future. There are several distinct values of the academic program.

Christian Leadership

Crown College strives through all facets of campus life - Academics, Student Development, Athletics, and the Arts - to accomplish the mission of the College which is to develop Christian leaders. Our desire is for every graduate to lead with excellence in his or her sphere of influence. This begins with one’s own life, extends to leadership within one’s family, and most typically finds its place in one’s professional role.

Incarnation

Incarnational education centers on personal relationships. Because of this commitment, courses at the College are scheduled with a maximum enrollment of 60, and an average class size of 22. Crown encourages and commends faculty and staff members for spending important time with students outside of the classroom. Faculty is required to provide at least 10 office hours per week. Faculty members have students in their homes. At Crown College, faculty members are encouraged to walk alongside students as they learn together.

Integration

Higher education in America has become increasingly disintegrated with an almost exclusive commitment to the cognitive side of life. Crown College seeks to re-integrate education by valuing the spiritual, emotional and intellectual in education.

Integrity

Taking responsibility for their work means that students do not turn in the work of others as their own, and they cite the work of others to avoid plagiarism. Increasingly, employers are looking for students who can lead and demonstrate integrity in a professional setting. To that end, the Crown College graduate is a person that every employer would want to hire for the qualities of a strong work ethic, good people skills, critical thinking abilities, innovative ideas, and rock-solid principles.
