Intercultural Studies Major (B.S.)

This major is offered through the School of Arts & Sciences. It is designed for students who have a call of God on their lives to vocational ministry in a cross-cultural setting, either in the United States or another country.

I. Core Curriculum - 48 Credits
All Biblical, Theological and Ministry Studies department classes must be completed with a grade of C or higher.
II. Intercultural Studies Major - 55-56 Credits
All major core classes must be completed with a grade of C or higher.
III. Electives - 21-22 Credits
A minimum of 36 credits must be at the upper (300-400) level for a bachelor degree.

- BIB 231 - Principles of Biblical Interpretation 3 Credits
- ENG/HIS/MAT/SCI Elective 3-4 Credits (Choose from: ENG 250 , ENG 312 , ENG 314 , ENG 322 , ENG 326 , HIS 133 , HIS 134 , HIS 231 , HIS 232 , MAT 130 , MAT 131 or a Lab Science class)
- Social Science Elective 3 Credits (Choose from: PSY 130 or SOC 230 )
- Elective 3 Credits
- Fine Arts Elective 3 Credits (Choose from: FAR or MUS classes or HON 225 )
- ICS 346 - Advanced Intercultural Relations 3 Credits (even)
or - INT 311 - Leading Societal Change 3 Credits (odd)
Spring Semester - 15 Credits
Departmental Acceptance
Students apply for departmental acceptance during their sophomore year spring semester or their junior year fall semester. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required for departmental admission in the Intercultural Studies major. A grade of “C” or higher is required in all Biblical, Theological and Ministry Studies (BTMS) department courses in the Core Curriculum and Major Core for admission into and graduation from all BTMS majors.
