This degree is offered through the Graduate School of Ministry. The vision of the M.A. in Pastoral Counseling degree program is:
- To prepare leaders to articulate basic knowledge of the profession of counseling, as well as the expected attitudes and ethics of professional counselors.
- To equip students to demonstrate basic skills and techniques of counseling.
- To motivate students to commit to spiritual formation as a lifelong journey.
- To write a theoretically based paper on the developmental process of an individual based on an interview of that individual.
The M.A. in Pastoral Counseling degree gives the counselor practical skills to help those in a Christian setting who are hurting or struggling but does not lead to licensure with the state.
