Sport Management Major (B.S.)

This major is offered through the School of Arts & Sciences. The Sport Management major prepares students to serve Christ as marketplace missionaries in the field of sport management in both the private and public sectors. The degree is designed to assist students in acquiring organizational and managerial expertise in the health, fitness and sport management fields as well as to assist students in gaining an understanding of personnel management and supervisory dynamics.

A minimum of 36 credits must be at the upper (300-400) level for a bachelor degree.
Option: Accelerated Degree Program
Qualified students in the B.S. in Sport Management program may apply for an accelerated degree program to earn their M.A. in Sports Coaching and Administration in an additional year instead of the typical two years. Course Requirements for M.A. in Sports Coaching and Administration
Students who are accepted into the accelerated program for M.A. in Sports Coaching and Administration will substitute the following graduate level courses into the undergraduate degree.

- ENG 132 - Writing and Literature 3 Credits
- ENG/HIS/MAT/SCI Elective 3-4 Credits (Choose from: ENG 250 , ENG 312 , ENG 314 , ENG 322 , ENG 326 , HIS 133 , HIS 134 , HIS 231 , HIS 232 , MAT 130 , MAT 131 or a Lab Science class)
- FIN 210 - Personal Financial Planning 3 Credits
- SMG 105 - Introduction to Sport Management 3 Credits
Fall Semester - 15 Credits

Departmental Acceptance
Students apply for departmental acceptance during their sophomore year spring semester or their junior year fall semester. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required for departmental admission in the Sport Management major.
