Next Generation Ministry Leadership Major (B.S.)

This major is offered through the School of Arts & Sciences. The mission of the Next Generation Ministry Leadership major is to equip men and women to provide biblical and theologically based leadership in church ministry for youth and/or children’s discipleship and multiplication.

II. Next Generation Ministry Leadership Major - 59 Credits
III. Electives - 18 Credits
A minimum of 36 credits must be at the upper (300-400) level for a bachelor degree.
Option: Accelerated Degree Programs
Qualified students may apply for an accelerated degree program to earn their M.A. in Christian Studies (MACS) degree in one additional year instead of the typical two years. Students may also apply for an accelerated Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program. Click here for more detailed information regarding the acceptance process for these options.
Course Requirements for MACS
Students who are accepted into the accelerated MACS program will substitute the following graduate level courses into the undergraduate degree.

- BIB 231 - Principles of Biblical Interpretation 3 Credits
- BIB/THE - Bible or Theology Elective 3 Credits
- CHM 301 - Spiritual and Leadership Development 3 Credits
- DSC 335X - Intergenerational Ministry 3 Credits
- ENG/HIS/MAT/SCI Elective 3-4 Credits (Choose from: ENG 250 , ENG 312X , ENG 314 , ENG 322 , ENG 326X , HIS 133 , HIS 134 , HIS 231 , HIS 232 , MAT 130 , MAT 131 or a Lab Science class)
- Social Science Elective 3 Credits (Choose from: PSY 130 or SOC 230 )
Spring Semester - 15 Credits
Departmental Acceptance
Students apply for departmental acceptance during their sophomore year spring semester or their junior year fall semester. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA with a GPA of 2.5 for courses in the major is required for departmental admission in the Next Generation Ministry Leadership major.
