The Certificate in Alcohol & Drug Counseling is designed for students who desire additional training in alcohol & drug counseling. As a stand-alone certificate program, the guidelines for enrollment are as follows:
- An accredited bachelor degree as evidenced by a transcript
- Students are not eligible to enroll in any other degree program while completing this certificate
- Students must complete the certificate within three years of enrollment
- Students must complete a minimum of 12 credits at Crown
- Students must re-apply in order to enroll in any other degree program offered by Crown
Note: Many states (including MN) require a bachelor’s degree for licensure in alcohol and drug counseling. A certificate may or may not qualify a student for licensure in their state. Students should read their state’s requirements to know what is needed for licensure if they intend to apply to be licensed either upon completion of the certificate or in the future. Crown enrollment professionals can also assist you in determining whether the certificate is adequate for licensure in your state.
