The purpose of the Math and Science Department is to broadly train students in the biological sciences so that they will be prepared to pursue graduate work, medical studies, research or vocations in industry, governmental agencies, education and other related areas.
Student pursuing pre-med, pre-dental or pre-veterinary tracks or physical therapy can meet the necessary requirements for these programs through the biology major. Working closely with their academic advisor, students can strategically choose coursework in biology, physics, chemistry and math that will meet program prerequisites necessary to gain admission into the appropriate graduate school.
A second mission of the Math and Science Department is to provide a variety of liberal arts courses to support the general education programs of the College and to assist students in developing basic math skills they can apply to their programs of study.
The Math and Science Department strives to integrate biblical studies with math and science to develop excellence in academics and personal character. Our goal is that students will have a vibrant spiritual life showing developing skills in evangelism and discipleship and that students will become confident, competent leaders in their vocations.
