BIO 361 - Environmental Contaminants

Environmental Contaminants explores the sources, fate, and effects of pollutants in air, water, and soil ecosystems. Topics include chemical contaminants such as heavy metals, pesticides, industrial chemicals, and emerging pollutants, along with their environmental transport and bioaccumulation. The course emphasizes understanding contaminant impact on human health and ecosystems, as well as remediation and regulatory approaches.

Prerequisite: BIO 144 and BIO 144L required. CHE 261 and CHE 261L recommended.
