SCI 249 - General, Organic and Biochemistry

This course is a one-semester survey of general (inorganic), organic, and biochemistry as they apply to the human body. Topics include atomic structure, bonding, chemical reactions, gases, solutions, organic functional groups and reactions, the structure and function of biological molecules, and basic metabolic pathways. This course is intended for those students needing only one semester of chemistry and is not suitable for those students needing to take additional chemistry courses.

Prerequisite: Two years of high school algebra which include algebra I and algebra II, or a math ACT score of at least 20 or a math SAT score of at least 480.
