Life Together Groups

In an effort to keep everyone healthy via physical distancing, we have decided to make temporary changes to the chapel and Service Credit requirements.  Please read the following carefully.

Chapel

WE WILL STILL HAVE CHAPELS, but due to COVID-19 and inadequate space issues at the start of the semester, Crown College is waiving the chapel requirement for the first 8-weeks of the semester (Module A).

  1. Below is the schedule of chapels/Life Together Groups for the first 8 weeks of the semester (Module A):
    1. Mondays and Fridays - Chapel meet from 10:15am-11:00am in the Chapel with overflow in Sherburne Ave. Coffee and the Storm Café.
    2. Wednesdays -  Life Together Groups meet 10:15am-11:00am in various locations around campus.
    3. Sunday evenings - Selah Chapels meet from 8:00pm-8:45pm outside in the Courtyard (weather permitting).
  2. Crown prioritizes the spiritual life of each student and therefore has chapel requirements for students.
  3. Chapel requirements will be re-instated once the space issues are resolved.

Service Credits

Crown College is waiving the Service Credit requirements for the fall 2020 semester.

  1. In a responsible act of care and support to our surrounding community, it seemed prudent to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19 caused by off-campus student volunteering.
  2. Crown College values community service as a reflection of Christ’s call to serve others.  This has not changed!
  3. Crown is in the process of revising the current Service Credit program to provide more student choice on service locations and to recognize the many ways students serve.
  4. We will be launching a new service credit program as soon as we are able to safely enter the community.
  5. Crown College is waiving the service credit requirement for December graduates.

Life Together Groups

Campus Ministries encourages all students, staff, faculty, and coaches to set aside 10-10:45 AM on Mondays to do Life Together.  It takes time and intentionality to strengthen and grow a relationship with the Lord. First Thessalonians 5:11 instructs us to encourage and build each other up as we do Life together. We strongly encourage students, staff, and faculty to engage in Life Together to promote personal spiritual growth and foster healthy community relationships.

Life Together: Engaging the Crown community in their spiritual walk, equipping them to serve and live a life of faith, and encouraging them to apply Biblical principles to daily life. - ARE THESE PARAGRAPHS REDUNDANT?

The goals of Life Together at Crown is…

  1. To promote and encourage personal spiritual growth of Crown College students, faculty, staff, and coaches.
  2. To provide a safe place for individuals to ask questions and wrestle with their faith journey.

A. Life Together (LT) Gathering

This unique experience will be offered in the Chapel during LT time. Life Together (LT) Gatherings are for individuals who want to commit to weekly attendance or choose to drop in when it fits into their schedule.

B. Life Together (LT) Groups

A Life Together (LT) Group is a small group of individuals who are part of the Crown College community who gather weekly to connect and engage in activities that promote and encourage personal spiritual growth.  The intent is that each student, staff, faculty, and coach will find an LT Group that is a safe place to ask questions and journey with others in his/her walk with the Lord.

Whether a student participates in a Life Together Gathering or a Life Together Group, a Service Credit will be given each time a student attends.
