Honors Program Minor

Location(s): On Campus

The Crown College Honors Program exists to glorify Christ in a community of distinguished scholars who explore truth, beauty, goodness, and wisdom to engage minds and serve others. The curriculum includes 14 credit hours of course work in the first two years and 6 credits hours of study abroad and research in the final two years of the program. Honors students who complete the program will earn an Honors Program Minor  in addition to their major course of study. Students must be accepted into the Honors Program to be eligible to declare the minor. Students interested in the Honors Program can go to http://www.crown.edu/crown-honors for more information.

The following policies were approved for implementation beginning Fall 2026:

  1. Students already in the Honors Program fall under the policy in place when they matriculated to the college.
  2. Honors students are required to maintain a cumulative Crown GPA of 3.75. If a student drops below a 3.75 GPA, they will be placed on a one semester Honors Program probation. Students will be notified of their probationary status after final grades have been submitted in the semester which they drop below the required Crown GPA. Once placed on probation, students must raise their cumulative Crown GPA back to at least 3.75 by the completion of the semester in which they are placed on probation. If the student does not meet this Crown GPA threshold after one semester on probation, they will be removed from the Honors Program and forfeit their Honors scholarship. A student may appeal this decision according to the procedure and policy outlined in the Honors Program Handbook under “Honors Program Probation and Appeals Process.” If the student’s appeal is granted, they must meet the guidelines set by the Honors committee to remain in the Honors Program. Honors students must possess a cumulative Crown GPA of 3.75 to graduate with an Honors Program Minor .
  3. All Honors students must pass all Honors courses with at least a B grade. In the case of Honors seminars, all Honors students must pass with a satisfactory grade. Students who do not pass the Honors courses as outlined above will be placed on Honors probation and be subject to an Honors remediation plan as outlined in the Honors Program Handbook. Students who successfully meet the remediation plan within the next semester and who meet all other Honors Program requirements may be removed from Honors probation. Students who fail to meet these requirements will be dismissed from the Honors Program.
  4. Honors students must not receive an F (or unsatisfactory grade for S/U graded courses) in any course that they take while at Crown College. Students who receive an F (or U) grade in any course will be dismissed from the Honors Program.
