Communication Arts and Literature Education Major (B.S.)

This major is offered through the School of Liberal Arts + Education. The Communication Arts and Literature Education major is designed to prepare students for a public and private teaching career in grades 5-12. The program is structured to meet the Professional Education Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) Communication Arts and Literature licensure requirements. The student must be accepted into and fulfill all requirements for the Teacher Education Department as well as the Humanities and Social Science Department.

Freshman Year


 

Fall Semester - 15 Credits


Spring Semester - 15 Credits


Sophomore Year


 

Fall Semester - 15-16 Credits


Departmental Acceptance


Students apply for departmental acceptance during their sophomore year spring semester. A minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA is required for departmental admission in the Communication Arts and Literature Education major. Students must apply and be accepted into both the Teacher Education Department  and Humanities and Social Science Department .
