Communication Major, Strategic Communication Concentration (B.A.)

This major is offered through the School of Arts & Sciences. The program is designed to prepare students who anticipate a career in written, verbal, or professional communication and will enable students to apply critical thinking skills in the application of biblical principles to the field of communication. It is also designed as a liberal arts degree, emphasizing interpersonal relations for students who anticipate jobs in business, marketing, public relations, and other fields. Students take a common core of required classes in the major as well as specific courses for the concentration. Students, in consultation with their academic advisor, also choose electives appropriate to their educational and vocational goals.

A minimum of 36 credits must be at the upper (300-400) level for a bachelor degree.

Departmental Acceptance


Students apply for departmental acceptance during their sophomore year spring semester or their junior year fall semester. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required for departmental admission in the Communication major.
