Pastoral Counseling Concentration

This concentration is offered through the Graduate Schools. A concentration or emphasis may be added to approved graduate degree programs by declaring the concentration upon initial enrollment or in consultation with a student’s academic advisor. Students with graduate degree programs which have multiple general elective slots are encouraged to declare an emphasis or concentration. Students who do not have sufficient general elective slots in their degree program may extend their program of study to add a concentration or emphasis. Visit the degree program page for a list of approved concentrations or emphases for that particular degree program. At least 50% of the concentration or emphasis coursework must be completed through Crown College. 

Note:  If required concentration or emphasis track courses have been taken as a part of the degree core, an additional 3 credits of concentration or emphasis track electives per course will be required in order to fulfill the concentration/emphasis requirements.

Concentration Requirements


Students in this concentration track are encouraged to take COU 5212 - Counseling Skills, Methods and Techniques in Helping Relationships  as one of their elective courses. Please note that this elective course includes a required on campus residency and a course fee.
