Exercise Science Major (B.S.)


 

 

This major is offered through the School of Arts & Sciences. It is intended to broadly prepare students in the field of health and wellness. Students may be equipped to pursue graduate work in physical therapy, athletic training, research, or other related areas.

Program Requirements


I. Core Curriculum - 49 Credits


V. Electives - 21 Credits


A minimum of 36 credits must be at the upper (300-400) level for a bachelor degree.

Total - 125 Credits


Option: Accelerated Degree Program


Qualified students in the B.S. in Exercise Science program may apply for an accelerated degree program to earn their M.S. in Exercise Science/Sport Performance  in an additional year instead of the typical two years. Students who are accepted into the accelerated M.S. in Exercise Science/Sport Performance  will substitute the following graduate level courses into the undergraduate degree.

Departmental Acceptance


Students apply for departmental acceptance during their sophomore year spring semester or their junior year fall semester. A minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA is required for departmental admission in the Exercise Science major.
