This major is offered through the School of Arts & Sciences. It is designed for students who desire a broad liberal arts education. The history program includes the Christian Studies core, a strong general education distribution of courses, and the major emphasis in history. The content and skills learned from a history major are a first step toward a variety of careers including business, civil service, education, journalism, library science, and public administration. A history major can serve as an excellent pre-seminary or legal studies program and as the foundation for graduate study in history and other fields such as political science and social service. The elective hours in the history program may be applied toward a number of concentrations and minors.
