Crown’s TEFL (Teaching English to Speakers of Foreign Languages) program is designed for students who want to learn to teach English to speakers of foreign languages, especially those students who live in majority non-native English speaking countries.  Crown’s program will not qualify students for licensure in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language).  Students who want to teach English in formal educational settings in the United States will not be able to fulfill the requirements necessary to become licensed through Crown’s program.

The Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language is designed for students who desire additional training in this area. As a stand-alone certificate program, the guidelines for enrollment are as follows:

  1. An accredited bachelor degree as evidenced by a transcript
  2. A tuition rate specific to this certificate program only
  3. Students are not eligible to enroll in any other degree program while completing this certificate
  4. Students enrolled in this certificate program are not eligible for Title IV financial aid funding
  5. Students must complete a minimum of 50% of the credits at Crown
  6. Students must re-apply in order to enroll in any other degree program offered by Crown
