English Major (B.A.)

Return to {$returnto_text} Return to: Arts & Sciences Academic Programs

In addition to completing the Christian Studies core, students in the English program fulfill general education requirements and take a group of courses with a major emphasis in literature and writing. Working with an academic advisor, students choose elective courses to help them achieve their educational and vocational goals. The major serves as preparation for graduate studies in English and other fields such as church ministry, theology, journalism, linguistics, technical writing, library science, business, and education. Students may also earn a semester of course work in study-abroad programs that apply to the major.
