Christian Ministry (B.S.)

The B.S. in Christian Ministry degree features a core of biblical and theological studies to prepare students for effective Christian ministry through facilitating growth in Christ-centered character, empowered ministry, leadership excellence, and healthy living. The program culminates in a core of fourth year classes designed to engage students in ministry and cause them to critically reflect on those experiences. The Christian Ministry program is designed to prepare reflective ministry practitioners who have a clear vision for making disciples in their local congregations and to the ends of the earth.  
 
NOTE:   This program includes three accelerated track options for select students who wish to complete the B.S. in Christian Ministry and an M.A. in Christian Studies, M.A. in Ministry Leadership or Master of Divinity (M.Div.)

Required Courses for the Christian Ministry B.S. Degree

I. Christian Studies Core - 18 Credits

II. General Education Core - 31 Credits

III. Major Core - 30 Credits

IV. Electives - 46 Credits

Total - 125 Credits

1 Counts towards 3 credits of Social Science credits. Students who have successfully completed 60 credits with a GPA of at least a 2.0 may replace SOC 1510  with another Social Science elective.

* Some courses from the Christian Studies Core and Major Core can be used to fulfill requirements in the General Education Core. By doing that the number of electives needed would increase so that the minimum of 125 credits is reached.

Option: BSCM Accelerated Degree Programs

Qualified students in the B.S. in Christian Ministry (BSCM) program may apply for an accelerated degree program to earn their M.A. in Christian Studies (MACS) or M.A. in Ministry Leadership (MAML) degree in one additional year instead of the typical two years. Students may also apply for an accelerated M.Div. program. Click here for more detailed information regarding the acceptance process for these options.

Students who are accepeted into the accelerated MACS program will substitute the following graduate level courses into the undergraduate degree to fulfill the BSCM requirements.
