Research Emphasis

This emphasis recognizes a student’s completion of research-oriented classes and is particularly useful for students intending to pursue graduate work. Open to all majors.

Emphasis Requirements

MAT 225 - Statistics 4 Credits
SOC 240X - Social Science Research Methods 3 Credits
SOC 330 - Qualitative Research Methods 3 Credits

Total - 10 Credits

By petition, ICS 440A Research Practicum or COM 455A Communication Practicum courses may be considered on a case-by-case basis to substitute for a maximum of one course in the research emphasis. These practicums are one credit each, so 3 or 4 must be completed to replace the credits from the course requirement.
