Nursing Major (B.S.N.)


The nursing degree provides a biblically-based nursing education for the purpose of preparing Christian men and women for service to the community, health care system, the church-at-large, and to the world. This program seeks to prepare competent nursing professionals who can practice Christian caring in a variety of cultures around the world. Clinical nursing experiences are provided with the cooperation of a variety of hospitals and agencies throughout the area. Graduates of the program will be eligible to apply to take the national licensure examination (NCLEX).

Christian Studies Core


I. Christian Studies - 24 Credits


General Education Core


II. General Education - 30 Credits


Major Core


Total - 131 Credits *


1 Select humanities electives from COM, ENG, ESL, FAR, HIS, HUM, LAN, MUS, PHI, or PRC.

2 Select social science electives from ANT, CSJ, ECO, ESL, GEO, HIS, POL, PSY, or SOC. 

* Some courses from the Christian Studies Core and Major Core can be used to fulfill requirements in the General Education Core. By doing that the number of electives needed would increase so that the minimum of 125 credits is reached.

Departmental Acceptance


Students apply for departmental acceptance during their sophomore year spring semester. A minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA and completion of half of the Christian Service requirements are required for departmental admission in the Nursing major.
