MUS 353 - Topics in Music History

SPRING

An in-depth study of a specified historical period, musical genre, or influential composer from the Western Art tradition including analyses of representative works and musicians, comparisons of preceding, contemporary, and succeeding musicians and/or works, and consideration of cultural and philosophical influences. Students may take the course more than once for credit if the topic is different and with professor approval.

Prerequisite: MUS 235X and MUS 240
