A study of tonal music notation, structure, and style including major and minor keys and scales, diatonic chord construction, diatonic harmonic progressions and analysis, and simple and compound meters. Corresponding aural skills will include sight-singing, dictation, and error detection.
Prerequisite: MUS 164 or successful completion of an entrance exam
