The primary focus of the course is to examine the representation and reality of crime, law, society, and human behavior within literature and culture, including authors from English and non-English speaking cultures in various genres. Subthemes of this class include the impact of literacy rates on deviance and criminality in society as well as how law is portrayed inaccurately in story. (Cross-listed as CRJ 318X)
