BUS 334 - Entrepreneurial and Innovation Disciplines 3 Credits FALL
This course builds upon the foundational principles of entrepreneurship and explores the dynamic fields of entrepreneurship and innovation focusing on how entrepreneurs can identify and capitalize on innovative opportunities, manage creative processes, and lead new ventures with purpose. Students will explore both traditional and emerging theories of innovation, with a focus on business model development, opportunity recognition, and scalable growth strategies. Key topics include the role of innovation in entrepreneurship, the design of sustainable business models, and the ethical frameworks that influence innovative practices. Students will also examine methods for fostering an entrepreneurial culture, managing effective teams, forging and formalizing strategic partnerships, forecasting financial projects and proforma, and securing financing for innovation and growth. Throughout the course, Biblical perspectives of creativity, stewardship, leadership, sustainability and social responsibility will be integrated, guiding students to innovate with purpose and intentionality. This course aims to cultivate the entrepreneurial mindset necessary for leading innovative ventures, emphasizing ethical decision-making and the confluence of Biblical values such as service, integrity, and stewardship. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to develop business models that generate both economic and societal value, grounded in ethical leadership, intelligent networking, and faith-based principles.
