This course provides a basic understanding of the functioning of securities markets, individual investment alternatives, issues involved in investment theory and practice, and investment analysis and valuation, and the risk/return characteristics of different investment opportunities. Topics covered include portfolio and diversification theory, securities markets and trading, efficient market hypothesis, portfolio management, measuring portfolio performance, valuation and management of equities, valuation and management of bonds and derivative analysis.
