ENG 249 - The Short Story: Creative and Critical Perspective

This course provides a survey of traditional short stories and other pieces of short-form storytelling from antiquity through the present. Students will read about, write on, and debate over selected stories from American and British authors as well as authors from the Western and Eastern non-English traditions. Critical perspectives and narrative tools will be introduced to assist students in literary analysis and writerly craft.
