ESL (English as a Second Language) Education Major (B.S.)

The English as a Second Language Education major is designed for students who anticipate teaching English language learners in grades K-12 in a public or private school setting. This program is planned to meet Minnesota’s requirements for teaching English as a Second Language license, grades K-12.

Departmental Acceptance

Students apply for departmental acceptance during their sophomore year spring semester or their junior year fall semester. A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA and completion of half of the Christian Service requirements are required for departmental admission in the ESL Education major. Student must apply and be accepted into both the Teacher Education Department and Humanities and Social Science Department.
